Default New Front Pads Today........(the old ones only had 105K on them!!!!)

Yup......105,011 miles on the original front brake pads.....changed them out today with another set of stock Toyota pads......didn't turn the rotors........they looked great.....bedded the new pads in and that's it! They work excelent! I think if i really wanted to I could easily have left them in for another 3 to 5K miles! (I should post pics of the old pads...the wear indicators weren't touching yet! )
Every now and then a guy gets a "good one"....I guess this is mine!
Seriously...this is a damn good truck!!!!!!!!!

WHAT! 105,000 MILES ON THE ORIGINAL PADS!?!?!? NO WAY! That's not fair and I'm jealous and yes I'm crying like a lil' baby and what! I had to change mine out at a lil' under 20,000 miles and mine's an 06 DC!!!! What gives? You must drive like a grandma and have a gental foot cause I can't imagine going so long on one set of pads even though I wish I could!

This is what was left of my front pads after only 20k miles of driving!

Got 114K on my 03, still have the original front brakes on it. I do have a gentle foot, but it all boils down to highway miles. I drive the interstate almost all the time with it.

And a bed monkey to toss an anchor out instead of using the brake pedal!

I don't drive like a Granny but I do drive accross the CA high desert everyday to work at Edwards AF Base....almost no stops and even less traffic.
I also shift outta OD on long down hills b4 I stop....let the engine do some of the braking.....things like that. After reading all the posts here for a couple of years I thought my brakes were going to be an issue.....they weren't... that's why I'm bragging!
I hope Santy brings me one of them bed monkees!

You might want to check you rear brakes to be sure they're doing their part....I just did my fronts at 54K and could have held off for another 3-4K. Just wiped the rotors with Denatured Alcohol, lubed the pins and anti-squeal pads and put everything back together. Stops like new.

Thats awesome to get that kind of mileage out of the pads. I am a firm believer in using the factory pads and when my Tundra needed new shoes I put the factory ones back on.
