I mounted mine using Highspeeds mod, pretty easy to do. Like it sitting in front of the factory guages/speedo. I do have to send mine in for the upgrade, but I have been putting this off, don't like being without the unit.

USAFTundra- the way you installed your unit looks like it would not work with the full console.

About six weeks ago we had a thread running concerning SGII upgrade,Xgauge,Tranny temp,etc...
Here's the
link:ScanGauge II
My understanding then was that the current version did not support the tranny temp function for Toyotas yet.
Let us know if your new units have all the bells & whistles operating.
Thanks...

hi, i will let all of you know how i make out.
if i can not program it like i said.
i will take it in and have a master ASE do it.
check to make sure you have the newest 3.15 version with the xguage.
i was told that will make all the difference,if you can or can not.
but who knows ,maybe they told me this to make a sale.
either way, i like this thing. i will not be using that feature anyway. i just like knowing when i buy something it is the newest version out. at least the day i bought it. LOL!

My stupid regular cab work truck doesnt even have a tach. This would be a sweet way to see engine RPM's.

So it doenst need its own power supply, just the OBDII cable?

The 08 impala rental car I have right now basically has a lot of that crap built in. Avg MPG, instant MPG, etc.

Just the one cable. That's it.
It'll need to know the # of cylinders, size of engine, gas/diesel, tank capacity.... for more detailed operation.

visit this website MGT motorsports Blendmount they sell the scanguage and blendmount for the mirror, it not that hard to feed the wire through the headliner and down the pillar, since this picture I got a modified angle bracket from MGT and no more exposed wire plus you dont cover your dash and it is not bad looking up to the mirror

Update Scangauge Mount version 1.5
Skill level raised from caveman to thatched hut dweller

OK. After a few days of using the gauge and mount, I noticed that there is just not enough surface area on the mount to properly fix the gauge. So I took a leap into the area of "handy work" which is not my normal TO&E. I borrowed part of Hispeed's idea, although my work is not nearly as elegant. Basically I had to create more surface area for the Velcro to work and to give some stability to the sides of the gauge so when I push the buttons the gauge doesn't move around on me. Here's what I did.

First, I went to Lowes and found a piece of metal that I could work with. I went with an $0.89 piece of aluminum that you use to fasten wood together. Then I cut it so that it would fit behind the gauge.

Next, I cut long ways on the metal to more or less fit the gauge. I bought tin snips that were too large for the job. I got Tim the Toolman eyes in the store. Then I used a file to get the rough edges off and to square up the results of my poor cutting skills. A thousand curses on the guidance counselor that talked me out of taking "building and trades." After that I made a third cut to make room for the wire. Providence would not have the holes in the metal line up with the hole in the mount, so I drilled a hole to match and used the screw and nut that came with the mount to fix the metal brace. I also used 3M emblem glue as the screw by itself would not keep the brace from moving. After that I applied new 3M Velcro to the brace and the Scangauge using the 3M Velcro adhesive plus the 3M Emblem glue.

The new stable platform allows me to push the buttons on the gauge without it moving around on the mount and I was able to dress the wire more nicely as the gauge doesn't move from the pressure applied by torquing the wire. It doesn't look quite as clean but it functions much better. I'm sure some of you with better skills than I could make this look even better. Thanks for all the input so far.

Is the speaker mount metal? Unfortunately for me, I use the ashtray for change, and that would make it smack the top of my humpmount CB radio. But otherwise nice job!

Thanks. It's metal. You can get it in black or grey.

Also, I've included a attachment of ScanGauge readouts. I made it up and laminated so I would have quick reference in the truck.

The transmission temp is only available for Ford's currently. Currently I have added the HP gauge, it takes 2 minutes, and the other gauges are for short and long term Fuel trim, and bank 1 and 2 O2 sensors. I have not added those, as I do not know if the Tundra is ISO and VPW, PWM, or CANxx. Also, I really do not know how to interpret that info. Here is the link of the additional gauges:

hi search the threads here, someone has the input code for the xguage and than you lable it whatever you want i used HP.
i will try to find it, i might be in my truck, i'll have to look. but someone gave it to me.
just make sure you take your time and input the #'s letters correctly, otherwise it won't work right.
you also need to input, V8, 4.7 ,gasoline engine, 26 gallon gas tank, etc.
if you mess up the #'s even 1 you guages will be off.

but i knw the thread with the long code 's are here somewhere.
like i said , i will look for them, but i'm not sure if i will be able to find the list.
sorry,
gorilla
