1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Rear view mirror - Can I default to off?", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I hate that dimming rear view mirror in my 2005 Tundra. Can I have it off all the time as a default, rather than 'auto'?
Since you hate it so much, I will do you the favor and swap my regular mirror for your auto dimming. This way you will not be bothered with the auto dimming feature. If your interested let me know.

I have a cab and its waaaaaaay to dark to look through.....
Get some better backup lights! That's what I did. I was tired of having to roll down my window so I could see where I was backing. Got this unit with the plugngo adapter and I can SEE again. I had to do a little trimming on the unit because the Toyota hitch doesn't stick out far enough. Or, they make on that just slides in your receiver. Plugs into the towing harness.

Not for backing up, I cant really see through the tinted camper/cab I have. I like to look at whats behind me and those faint headlights just dont work. When I shutoff the rear view mirror it makes a huge difference. I hate dimmer mirrors, period.
