1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Doug Thorley Headers for 05-06 w/ Dyno", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I am here to anwser some questions. First they are 50 state smog legal and they are constructed of heavy 14 ga steel and then they are ceramic coated inside and out to protect them tubes from rusting etc while at the same dropping the under hood temps approx 3-400 degrees. Everybody knows that reducing temps equals more power and mileage. They are a direct bolt on and I am told they are not nearly as difficult as the 5.7.
question
the base line HP is 220.6 on these trucks at 5049rpm
and the torque baseline is 280 on these trucks at 3573
so my question is:
how are your baseline #'s higher, if it is a stock 2005 or 2006 4.7 tundra V8?
just asking
gorilla
For one thing you can take 10 different trucks off the lot exact same truck they could all dyno a little more or less than the other.Just the way things are.
every dyno i seen for after market companys except for D T ,
starts at a baseline of 220hp for this truck.
good to know,thanks
gorilla
But with all the different types of dyno's on the market, there will always be differences in the power reading. How they calculate the correction factor, the weather that day...etc...there are so many variables. That's why when I was doing dyno work, you only trust the numbers based on the same dyno, and usually we would only show results with before and after dyno runs that were done on the same day.
Doing dyno runs on different days can show differences. Its crazy. With automatic trucks, watching the tranny temps is important too.
The cheapest I could find these was $465 shipped to my door...any body found a better deal? I think I'm going to try these out as soon as I can get the best deal on them.
Can anyone beat $465 shipped?????????????
Well thats less than what the Thorley folks were asking in the group buy, so it looks good to me.

Where can we buy these? I cant find a dealer that has them listed yet nor do I seem them on the DT website.
Thanks in advance.
I ordered a set today from tundraracing.com and we'll how it goes. This was the only place I could find them.
If you call DT they will let you have them for $570 and then sit there on the phone like, well...then you say ok bye. Call the above and get them for $465 shipped.
