This is a discussion thread titled "air horn", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
anyone ever try one of these? How loud are they? I know its not a train horn but its only 20 bucks....
and what all would i have to do to install it?
thanks
Harbor freight also has a "wolo bad boy" horn........ a twin horn all in one air horn too..........small, loud, easy to install, I put one on our corrolla.........it now sounds lika a europian sports car......loud and annoying..........it comes with a relay so you dont over load the horn circut/fuse...........I printed it out from internet and took ad in to store for price match................I am pleased ..........

I have a cat that can fart louder than those horns.
you get what you pay for except in this case - here you would be robbed of $20

I'm considering ordering my third set of these AIR HORNS Model 418 Powerhouse to replace that whimpy Horn on my 2008 CM Limited.
I say third set, because I installed a set on a friends Hummer H1 a few years back, a set in my parents motor home and perhaps in the Crewmax. Although I'm toying with ordering the 519 Bad Boy Chrome. It's a straight replacement for the existing horn so after I look under the hood a little bit I'll decide then what might be simplest solution.
I will say that the 418 Powerhouse Chromes are sweet and they will definitely get EVERYONE's attention and are in inexpensive solution. For ~$100 they are definitely worth it.
Watch out for anything you buy at Harbor Freight. The stuff is CHEAP ! about half of it will last a few months then fall apart. Some tools do last a reasonable time, you just never know which one will. My experience only, your mileage may vary.

You ain't lyin... I bought 2 pair of strut compressors from Harbor Freight to install my spacers and had to use 3 on the stock springs... the bolts in the compressors looked like 14" lag bolts that got a little bend in them when the strut got compressed down a bit.

Neither are you (lying that is). I had an bench grinder from HF didn't last 30 minutes before the stator crapped out.
