Default headlamp haze question

I recently noticed headlamp haze on my 00 Tundra and tried to clean it off. I used a product called Bartender's Friend and used to a sponge to clean the headlamp. i washed it off and the lens looked crystal clear, like new. I let it dry and when I came back 20 minutes later it was back to hazy. Should I be using a better solvent to clean this off? Attacking it with a rougher pad? I know these are all temp. fixes but I heard people keeping them clean for at least 6 months with 1 application.. Thanks!

Get your truck buffed and have them hit the headlights. They will be crystal clear. I had this done to my brother's 98 Acura this summer.

I used Meguiars metal polish on plastic. Try some on a little part or corner first to make sure it will work.

The plast x worked very well on my wife's maxima. I tried several products on my Tundra, to no avail, and ended up replacing them. This was before I tried the plast x on my wife's car. I was amazed at how effective and easy this stuff worked.

Go to any motorcycle store and get a bottle of Novus plastic windshield cleaner. Rub it on, wipe it off ... instant clearness. Works great on old CDs that have gotten nicked up over time, too.

I had that problem on my 93 T-100 before I traded up to the Tundra. I found a product called Blue Magic Plastic and Plexiglass Cleaner that also polishes out light scratches.(Autozone) Many times the haze you are talking about is light scratching cause by wiping with a dirty rag or just road dirt hitting it at road speeds. It helped take the glaze off of the headlights and the smoked plexiglas bug deflector. I've also used it to polish plastic watch faces that were scraped while I was wearing them. If you keep it wet, use a soft cloth, and use it long enough for the polish to work, you will see a difference. It dries like auto wax, and you just buff it off with a soft cloth.

I'd like to second the Meguiars Plast-X. It worked like a charm.
