So i'm driving to Atlanta for a field work back and forth and use My Tundra today since it's been garaged a week and guess what My Overdrive light on the dash kepts turning itself Off. I pushed the button to leave it on and the Truck again turns the Overdrive off a few min later im like Wtf this is a trip . The truck Rmp's were acting strange since the OD was going Off so i pulled over stoped the truck and headed to the Dealership.Wile at the dealership they hooked it up to the OBD and found no error's code's but I have an appointment on Monday to check it all out. Since i know the master Tech there he mentioned he would test drive and check to insure the transmission is workly properly before the Factory warrent on that is over in 3k and ext kicks in.I came home just now and checked the engine and Notice on the passenger side of the engine a Hose came Off from the engine But not sure if that's related to the problem or not?My Tundra transmission fluid is replaced every 30k and I don't tow so im not sure if that's the problem or not.
You think maybe the dealership took the hose lose when checking it out or did they miss that it was off or lose. Strange that they didn't notice that or did they not open the hood? I know that does not help with your question it just made me shake my head some that you had just been to the dealer and then find a hose lose that they didn't.
Mine would do something similar............I found that a wire in the steering callum was pinched.........took the top and bottom off moved the wire and no more issues...........the wire came from the OD button through the shifter and then is where it got pinched.....

No they didn't open the engine because they were closing soon and I know the service rep very well and he took care of me in the service bay with the OBD scanner tool and found no codes. I didn't see the loose hose intill i check my engine coming home. I noticed there is no clamp on this hose and the second time it's come loose so I just placed a clamp on it now.To be honest im not sure what this hose does or aids in it's coming out of the engine Into the Large tube.I'll post a pict in a few but im wondering if this is my problem on OD turning itself off?????

where was this at ? I'll Pm you. I strongly doubt it's the Transmission going out this truck is bullet proof vs my 2000 Tundra..
I took the top and bottom off of the steering collum.......with both parts removed , you will be able to see a wire that will leave the base of the shifter, it will go over some plastic ridges I taped mine with electrical tape and re situated it to there was less chance of a pinch..............I figger it was grounding out or losing continuity due to the pinch............I have had no further issues with it.........it took me two tries to get it right..............but after the first try, I knew I was on the right track for my truck as the issue was gone for awhile , so I re did it and now it has been 35,00 miles and no issues

i'll have the dealership check that out and since the truck is there do another Transmission flush and refill..

Looks like the PCV valve hose. Disconnected ,this will affect your MAP/ engine vacuum. This will cause a DTC code at some point!
The OD disabled issue appears to be the pinched harness at the shifter column.

just for kick's im going to open the shifter Column this weekend. I really hate to mess with this since the airbag is near .I haven't had time to drive it yet to see if the Pcv valve hose was the problem but i seriously doubt now it would affect the Overdrive more i research the problem .Truck head's into service Monday or Tue next week.
I think your truck is trying to tell you it does not like to be sitting for a week
Sometimes you get sick of Tundras after 8 year's of having them so back and fourth it goes
I wanted to thank Lifetech and PapaPS for the phone call today Yes i tend to beleive it's a pinched wire as well after moving the steering colume back and forth in different postions this affected the light greatly thus a cause. The effect will be taken into The Dealership with that fixed and Trans fluid replacement.
