Volant Intake Stalling My Truck!!! Prob solved!!!!!!!
I bought the volant intake about a month ago and when installed it runs rough and dies out within 20-30 sec's. I checked all the vacuum hoses and everything seems to be in place. MAF sensor was on as tight as it could possibly go. So this was last month and i got so frustrated with it i just threw it in the garage. Well i want to give it another try and hopefully you all can point me in the right direction on what to do. Do i need to disconnect the battery to let everything reset possibly???? Any help would be great!!

Reason: Problem solved
my best advise would be to ask someone that has 1 with your year(2000)
yes, almost everything you do, you should always disconnect the battery.
and since it was in the garbage for a month, i would bet, it real dirty. so better clean it. also, many of us have changed the air intake's to every kind out there, i have never heard of a truck not running with a certain type.
but i'm sure it's possible.maybe you touched the sensor. maybe broke it. maybe the senor rubber seal or skrew sleve's or shim are missing for the sensor? did you drop it, while taking it out or putting it in?
good luck, i'm surprised it didn't through a code, or cell code.
does it run perfectly with the oem 1. if yes, than keep the oem, and through the other back in the garbage.

I don't have your truck but it sounds like your MAF sensor isn't getting the proper air flow with the Volant system.I've read on this site where another vehicle was bogging down when he stepped on the accelerator.
He had an Airaid system.I would try disconnecting the battery and see if the computer can adjust to the Volant system. It won't hurt anything but your settings.

Best advice is to get rid of it and go back to stock.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.

1. Clean it out since it may be dirty once you gave up the first time and threw it in the garbage.
2. re-check your vacuum lines again, sounds like to me thats the real problem
3. don't overtighten the MAF, just make sure its on there snug, sounds like you were wrenching down on it pretty good
4. The MAF might need to be cleaned and being dirty it is causing the truck to not get the right amount of air to it and is allowing it to stall
5. Disconnect the battery again too

I put that intake on my old truck (which was a chevy ) and I had to disconnect the battery for a few hours to let it reset. Next time you put it on try that and see what happens. I put K&N open air on my 04 tundra and didn't have to do anything like that. I would definatly recommend the K&N Intake I have, it sounds great in the cab when you get on the throttle.
I didnt really throw it in the garbage guys it was just in the garage lol. Anyways im about to go outside and give it a shot here in a min. I actually just cleaned the MAF and the throttle body yesterday and it worked great so hopefully i can get this all working. Im gonna give the battery reset a try. Thanks *fingers crossed*
oh yeah and the truck runs beautifully with the stock intake
and no i never damaged the MAF
Ok so i got it to idle fine sounds beautiful a few bod downs then it began to run purty
anyways i got in to take it for a spin and there is NO power in the lower rpm's when i get on it a lil bit there is like nothing and by nothing i mean i took off from a stopsign and was going like 4mph for a lil bit lol when i rev it in neutral it has trouble gettin through 1 and 2k rpms then after about 2 1/2 it shoots up no problem
its not drivable on main roads like this
Did you disconnect the battery?? If so, did you let it sit at least a couple hours? Like I said I did that with mine on my other truck and never had a problem, it just sucks finding something to do for 2 hours, your tempted to start it up and try it...
ok so i waited bout 2 hrs reconnected the battery and fired her up. Bogged down and up a few times comp did some adjustments i figure and it started to smooth out
well i let it run for like 10 min and get in to give it another try and when i hit the gas it just seems to bog it down more. This thing is blowing my mind
I have no clue wtf is going on!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
