1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Just Lowered My Tundra", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
My question is why would anyone "lift" a two wheel drive?
ever hear of PRERUNNER as in desert wheelin? That's why.... next
OP did you do any type of sway bar? that would tighten it up even more

Nothing too fancy, just better than stock!
Plus my oem mags are pretty nice already. Ill put a tonneau cover on and install a sunroof before I spend 2k on new wheels and tires. That's a lot of cash.
I agree, those 17s are some of the nicest stock wheels IMO. I wish I had a sunroof, need to look into getting one installed.
Yep, all that desert in Florida, lots of pre-running there!
I am a native Californian..... and will be returning soon but thanks for the intelligent response

Here is another photo, its as close to broadside as I can get.
Much better but was just trying to get an idea of how much it dropped visually as none of the other shots really show it when taken from the front or back. Thanks
Very familiar with lowered vehicles as I have owned more than one so my comment about "Lifted 2wd's" was directed at other owners who apparently don't get the obvious differences in 2wd and 4wd trucks and somehow think lifting a 2wd will cause anything but laughter from those who do.
And yes I lived in Ca for awhile ....... nuff said

Kinda like rationalizing: Instead of the knife I'll bring the machete to a........ Gunfight !!!
Might up your odds a little but still the wrong tool .
eh.... ok well I was complimenting you... lowering isn't my thing but whatever, my comment wasn't meant to bash.... I come from the "to each their own" side of the fence.

Sorry, kind of a sore spot, used to have to either pull those guys out or let em winch off our 4wd trucks when we were out riding paddle tired dirt bikes(also stupid) back in the mid 80's cause they got stuck a lot . The desert is no place for any machine unless you got a lot of money for parts. Sand will eat anything!

Looks great, esp. with the Stepside bed version Tundra. Now consider installing a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar and some performance truck tires/wheels, and with the lowered center of gravity, your truck will handle like it is on rails! Doesn't TundraSoul (site owner) have a lowered '07 Tundra?

soooo...i guess you're directing that towards me since i fall into that category of a lifted 2wd. I didn't know us 2wd owners had rules to follow. I had the impression, it's my truck...i'll do whatever i want with it??
to the OP, nice truck!
