1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Just Lowered My Tundra", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Hey everybody... just installed a SOS/Tundra Racing Lowering Kit. This kit lowers the back 4" and the front 2". It looks nice. Total install time was about 6 hours, but I had my dad helping me and he is very good with tools and fixing things. Everything went on very very nicely with a few minor modifications here and there. These guys really did put together a nice complete kit.

Nothing too fancy, just better than stock!
Haha you guys are funny... my dad said the same thing... "You would have to be crazy to put that on!!"
Well I wanted a low profile look.
Dude it rides awesome. Of course, it's lower to the ground and I can tell a difference in hugging the road and handling, and the suspension seems to be about the same as stock. It's nice so far I'm happy I did it.
It gives me a custom ride w a low profile look

Can you post a broadside shot so we can really see it?
My question is why would anyone "lift" a two wheel drive?
That "wanna be" (4 whd) stuff just looks silly.
What, you gonna rock climb with your 2 wheeler?
JMO and we know everyone's got one

I didn't lift it... I lowered it. I took some special shots already, don't have much time to go and take a broadside shot. Keep in mind this is the stepside ed.

I don't think it's low enough to consider it a lowrider but it's low enough to get a nice low profile. My dad has an '01 and I parked it next to his in the garage today... I still like his and stock, but I like mine too. This is more me.

Well I thought about it but I just spent 800 on goodyear forteras... Plus my oem mags are pretty nice already. Ill put a tonneau cover on and install a sunroof before I spend 2k on new wheels and tires. That's a lot of cash.
