    Default LED Bed lights

I was installing my Pace Edwards Bedlocker and decided I hated my crappy cargo lamps that point out instead of down so I installed some LED lights underneath the bedrails. The switch is mounted on the bed post out of the way of cargo. I also used some wire splicers and spliced into the power wire on the retractable bed cover motor so the lights come on\off automatically when the motor is engaged\disengaged. Here are the pics. It was completely dark with the exeption of my headlights.

I forgot to rotate the pic but you get the idea.

I actually bought he lights off of the ricer isle at Auto Zone. They are a type of fog lamp. I think there are 10 led lights in each cluster. I bought the plain white. The wires are secured under my bed rail caps and the PE bedlocker rails are clamped to the bedrails so the wires stay clamped in. I didn't even have to zip tie them or anything until I got underneath the truck. I tapped into a constant power supply inside the trailer wiring harness. Since LED's generally don't draw many amps, I should be fine.

Looks like another project for my truck. My full tlit Extang cover is nice but it blocks all the light from the LED Cargo Light. Thanks for the info!

Maybe this could be added to the DIY forum as a great bed mod.

Slick. I was talking to the electronics buddy of mine who wired up the PIAA's about this very idea. Good to see what it would look like.

Is this a light-up rocker switch? I just took another look at this post and noticed it. It's hard to tell at first.

I thought about wiring up some lights when I first got my PEFMJ cover and Bed Rug but, opted to spend $10 on 3 led Tap Lights. They work great, I use the velcro back and the stick to the Bed Rug and I can angle the light where-ever I want it. I put one on each side toward the back ....if I need light I've got it and because it's velcro'd on I can us them for light anywhere around the truck.
