That's probably why. The warranty covers up to 90K miles or 7 years. If I remember correctly, mine had 96,000 miles on it and is still well within the 7 years. I called Toyota to see if I could get them to cover it and they said to go to the dealer to see if they could get it covered. My dealer said if the sensor was the problem (they'd have to do their own diagnostic before making a determination), they'd ask their regional Toyota rep if it could be covered, if the rep said no, I'd be stuck w/ the diagnostic fee at a minimum. So rather than mess with it, I figured I'd just do it myself and be done with it.

Hi

I am new to the forum. I have a 2000 Tundra with a V6. I am replacing my front oxygen sensor. And yes it was painful to remove. Anyway, what do you guys think about universal replacements, even ones from Denso. I can get one for $61.
thanks

I haven't tried anything other than OEM, but from looking around here, it sounds like some have had problems with other sensors... and some have had ok results. I think one of the big problems some people were having involved the plug not fitting correctly.
