1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "CV's blowing grease", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
So, I got under my truck yesterday while puttin gon mynew wheels and found that BOTH my inner CV's boots are spewing grease everywhere. The boots aren't torn. It's leaking from the clamps. i've only driven 500 miles with the Toytec 3" lift.
Is there an easy fix for this? Any super clamps i don't know about you gyuys are running?

TIA,
Ace
you need the diff drop kit and the cv boot clamp mod.
Then you'll need to refill the boots with grease. That should be easy if you have the clamp off when putting on the boot mod.

If i was you, i would take the toytec off!...I had the same lift w/diff drop. With in 500 miles both inner cv's split in half. This is all after toytec told me everything would be ok as long as i had the diff drop...lol.
If you actually look at how much the diff drop spacers drop the diff, i don't really know that they do to much. I doubt they even drop 1/2"...but i guess every little bit counts.
Once your cv boot mod no longer works, buy the 930 cv boots, its amazing in the quality difference.
