Default navigation volume problem

I own a 2005 tundra double cab limited, and it has the factory jbl/navigation in it.every once in a while my audio volume control locks and cannot be increased or decreased in volume, i tryed the big knob, as well as the steering wheel volume controls, and neither changed the volume level. when i turn off the car and re-start the car, this problem clears itself. the dealer pulled the "could not duplicate" card. does anyone have any input?
