1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "1st GEN Tundra - what do you tow with it", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I pull the local high schools band trailer. It's a 24' Pace American with tandem axles. I couldn't tell you what it weighs full of equipment, but their website says it weighs 4000lbs empty. 6000 lbs or so I would guess.

got a 19' Rage'n toy hauler that we towed from CA to MN in 06.. it pulled it pretty good but I did get passed a couple times by semi's while going through New Mexico. Passed pretty much everything else other than gas stations.

Or a car like this (This one is not mine) on a flat car trailer. Mine is in pieces right now so sometimes it fits in a smaller trailer depending on waht part I am towing where.
OR a trailer with 2 of these:
OR finally this on occasion:

Sod. Wanted to put one pallet in truck and two in trailer (single axle).
Well the guys at the nursery humored me. Picked up a pallet and started to set it in the bed. When the springs hit the bump stops and started 'squishing' the tires I told them to pick it back up. Turns out a pallet of fresh sod weighs 3000lb!
Well, ended up loading part of a pallet in the truck and then about 2/3 in the trailer (it is rated for 2000lb). Made three trips instead of one.
i got a 4x6 utility trailer that gets loaded with misc house crap for the dump. my '02 ac pulled it without any problems nor does my '06 dc.
here i picked up some gravel for my yard. i didn't load to the top for fear of getting rocks in the retrax housing PLUS i was really tired from manually loading that stuff by myself with a crappy shovel. you can even see a hand truck buried in there somewhere! at the time she was stock but with TRD package so i wasn't hitting bump stops.
