Default Re: Spark Plugs and Headlights

All good tips while changing plugs.

I just bought my '01 Tundra AC (31K), and got a pre-inspection at a dealership and was told that it needed plugs, a battery and a serpentine belt. I bought Toyota plugs and belt at the dealer and a battery elsewhere. Decided to do a M1 oil change and Toyota filter to start off fresh as well.

The fuel hose trick and also taping that spark plug socket to the extension trick are two real good tips while changing plugs. I did one side w/o taping the socket (DOH!) and one side with, and the side I did with it taped went so much smoother. No need to fish out the socket after it stays in the chamber while pulling out the extension.

Anti-seize on the threads is also a good idea. The hose trick keeps you from cross threading the spark plug into the head (you do NOT want to do this!). The belt was super easy to do as well.

Great tips, everyone!
