1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "squeeky squeeky from front wheel", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Anyone have an RPM-dependant squeekysqueeky sound that comes from the front of the truck? It does away instantly when the brakes are applied, or sometimes if I don't hear it and lightly tap the brakes, it will start...it's not the fan belt.....
I had a similar problem, at least by the way you described it, and it turned out to be a squeaky timing belt. I noticed the sound when releasing the gas and coasting, or if I was parked I would give it a little gas and once I released it, there was the sound. You might want to check it that way, and if it is that, there is a spray you can buy which will make it go away. Hope that helps.
I had a similar annoying squeak up front that I eventually tracked down to a heavy rubber shock bushing that had worn out on the Bilstein.
Funny that you mention that. I figured the same thing out on my truck this weekend when I was rocking it. Whenever I hit any bump even in my driveway it would chirp and squeak so much it sounded like a bird's nest was under my there and would drive me nutz. I shot some WD-40 down from the top of the shock and fixed it for about a week. For the longest time I though it was my ball joints drying up.

Mine got EXTREMELY noisy going over bumps whenever the shocks would be put to use. That's what prompted me to look at it. Ended up having to replace the shocks. LOL, I did the same WD40 trick too that lasted about a week.

Timing belt ??? you sure about that ?
maybe the regular belt but I doubt you want to spary the timing belt with belt lube. If that belt makes noise, I suggest you replace it ASAP

I had the EXACT same problem. Turned out to be warped rotors. They had warped just enough that when the rotor rotated part of the rotor contact the brake pad and whala, squeeky squeek.
So bought new rotors and pads and it fixed the problem. I'm guessing your problem is the same since it goes away when you touch the brakes.
