This is a discussion thread titled "Tires - suggestions please.", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Another vote for the Michelin LTX M/S here. I commute, tow a 6,000 lb boat, drive in snow/rain, tow snowmobiles to the top of NH in the snow, quiet, long lasting, 27,000 miles, rotated/balanced once and counting.
Asking for a tire suggestion is like asking for a toothpaste suggestion. Every area and person has a tire that is good for them and there area. Go down look at the tires and pick one. If you ask 60 people you will get 20 different answers. So you end up with usable advise.

I'm not quite ready to swap out my tires, and was looking at getting the Michelin LTX's from Costco, but noticed that their sale ends this Saturday. Does anyone know if the sale comes back say in like 3-6 mos?
I have run alot of different tires and my two favorite for the application your looking for would have to be the Cooper Discover S/T and Toyo A/T in whatever size you choose, I whould personally go with the 265/75/16 or larger if your planning on lift
You will not beat the Bridgestone Dueler REVOS for a great all around tire. Great in snow and rain. I commute 45 miles a day on the interstate they seem to rarely plow when it snows, and they have saved me countless times. I have not been able to find a puddle deep enough to hydroplane them either. I am on my second set. They have a 50K treadwear warranty, so you will get at least that out of them.
I'd agree with the first part that they're exceptional in rain/snow, probably the best I've ever used, but I got 30k out of mine before they went almost bald and they were rotated religiously. Their softness is both beneficial and their downfall as far as longevity goes. Maybe other people get better lasting results, but I didn't.

I have read this elsewhere too. I rotate every 4-5K and not even close to bald when I removed them at 48K. Winter was coming and there wasn't enough tread to keep me comfortable for my commute, but they were certainly still legal. If it was summer, I wouldn't have replaced them and would have gotten at least 55k out of them.
One thing I forgot to mention was, as AT tires go, they are very quiet, but so are the LTX's.

I really wished they'd have lasted longer... I can't say enough good things about them otherwise. Actually, when I say bald, i think I was just barely legal, but with snow coming, like you mentioned, I didn't see enough tread in there to help with much.

A good place to start looking is here.
Living in the Midwest we get a fair amount of snow. I tried out the Geolanders and cant recommend them because they wore so unevenly on my truck. By the 3nd year I was sliding all over the place. I'm currently running the Revos and I admit they're good in the rain and an improvement over the Geolanders in the snow. I've herd good things from a co-worker regarding the Firestone Destination A/T's on his Chevy.......GL
