Back in December I bought an 05 AC, thinking it was a good time to upgrade from my 2000 regular cab. I decided to sell the 2000 myself, but maybe I should have traded it in.
I've tried E-Bay, Auto Trader, E-Bay again, still not many people looking. Thing is I've taken good care of it, still looks good and runs great. I've had it parked out front for three weeks and no one has even taken it for a ride. Maybe the mileage scares people (135K ), I don't know.
I thought for sure I could get $6 to 7 thousand for it but it's not looking like it.

Anyone having any luck selling theirs lately?
I have had my 02 AC for sale as well because of the gas prices, not a single person interested. I finally decided to keep it and look for a good used corolla as well. Where are the ads for yours, is it a 4x4? My guess is yours will be very hard to sell being a regular cab.
Yeah, it's a 4x4. It's got an aluminum cap on it. It would make someone a great work truck.
Makes me wonder if I overpaid for the 05.
Probably. And even if you didn't the value has dropped substantially since december. I was shopping other vehicles in december because the lease was up on my '05 DC. Wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it or not but my buy-out was slightly less than trade-in value so I decided to keep it. I recently looked at trading it in and its lost about $4,000 since December. Gas prices have killed truck/suv values. I know some folks in the car business and they're not able to work any deals when someone is trading truck/suv because they have to give such a low amount for them. They can't even sell them at the auto auctions.
Is your '00 a V6 or V8? A V6 will sell better at the moment. Obviously your price is too high or it would have sold, but it doesn't sound like a terrible deal. There's a nice looking '99 F-150 reg. cab 4X4 for sale on my way to work that's been there for several weeks. No idea on miles but it says $4,500 in the window. A year ago you couldn't buy most ANY decent 4x4 truck for under $5,000. Different story today......
Tried that too. Craigslist gets about 50 new listings a day around here. Any new listing gets buried quick.
I guess I'll just keep it for a while, drive it once week or so and hope I stumble into someone looking. I can't see going any lower than $5500. Bad thing about doing that is it's tying up a spot I'd like to have for the boat.
maybe after summer if gas prices go down a little you might get someone interested. Id keep it posted for sale. Look around and see what other trucks like yours are selling for. Good luck.

1) regular cab, they aren't very popular as most people want more room inside the cab.
2) the aluminum cap probably isn't helping
The whole auto market is in a recession, auto makers have a very hard time selling new cars, and the used market is even worse. If you aren't hard up for the money, keep it maintained and it'll sell eventually.

Give people a couple months to calm down cause most have worked themselves into a paranoid fit about gas prices and cannot see the forest because of the trees right now.
Single cab at those prices should be just what a lot will be looking for to pull a boat etc when their sanity returns.

year 200 8+ years old with over 135 on the odo. and what do you expect these days, gas prices and a truck that will surely be due for a large amount of service shortly.
people are looking for 4cyc, now more than ever before.
you want to sell it 2500 is more of what you will get. sorry not ment to insult you.
it's almost 9 years old. come on a reg cab, you paid maybe what 17.way back when.
i can buy a reg cab for 2008 for $21 now and it has a 5.7 V8 9 years newer.
so 7g's is alot. especially for alot of people now, no one is going out and spending money on vehciles now, they are worried about there home, and food on the table.
wait it out, or dump it, and save each month on insurence costs and gas, maintainence.
