1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Keyless Entry Issue", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Need help programming my keyless entry remote for my 02 Tundra(BAB237131-022)
Just bought it from the Dealer and thought I could program myself.
I tried some instructions I found on the net and was not successful.
Found the ECU.
Turned the Key on
Pressed the Green Reset button for 3 seconds.
Within 5 seconds of releasing the reset button I pressed the top key on the remote.
Did NOT receive the confirmation Chirp.
press the button on the remote while pressing the green button and make sure the keyless wire harness is plugged in to the ignitiong switch. Sometime the port installs the keyless and then disconnects the wire harness...do not ask me why, but I have alot of them that way. Once programmed it doesnt matter if the harness is plugged into the ignition switch, they usually leave it plugged into itself.

I'd listen to this guy. He knows his - er,umm... "stuff". Take it from someone who use to work for an aftermarket auto key blank manufacturer, who "thought" he knew enough about keys and programing transponder keys, who found out real quick he didn't know as much as he thought he did after talking to mustang67408. He won't steer you wrong - I promise.
