1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tundra's Worth", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Try proof reading so the rest of us Rhode Islanders don't look so un-educated. In this market our trucks are not worth much for the obvious reason, news flash, your house value went down also.
Is it un-educated or uneducated ? HMMMMM I think you made your point.

I don't care if gas is 5 bucks a gallon . I'm not going to sell my truck. Its paid for and I love it. I drove around in little Honda CRX's for 10 years . Great cars but unsafe. I lost four persons in my family to auto related accidents in the last 10 years and I'm gonna try to protect myself as much as possible . Anyone who has ever lived/driven in southeast Fla knows driving here is very frustrating and dangerous . I was a kid in the 70s and I remember everyone trading in their large cars for 4 bangers. by the time 1980 came around we had a big heavy '78 Caprice Classic. If this is the new norm and I think it is gas prices are not ever gonna be $1.80 again. We're getting screwed I'm sure of it .

LOL...I actually thought the post was coming from a different country.
I live close to a Toyota dealership and they have the new Tundra's lined up all in a row, probably 40 in all and not one of them has moved for at least a month.
Not sure what a dealer would give you, but as a data point we just bought an 05 Double Cab Limited with just about every option except nav (even has rear DVD entertainment system) for $22.5K from a private seller. Maybe not a great deal, but pretty good. Was debating getting a Tacoma, but the Tundras were so much more comfortable to sit in (I'm 6'4")
