Powder Coated 05 DC Wheels

Check them out... only took a day and half and the shop mounted and balanced for me too. I had them do the caps as well to get a better match, rather than spray paint that wouldn't hold up as well. They left the Toyota emblem chrome which kind of sets off the wheel with the chrome lugs.

I was going back and forth, but they set off better with the black tinted windows. You know the black glossy look they get when its just been clean. Anyway... it was a 400 for the rims and he charged another 100 to have the caps sprayed which seemed a little high, but I hadn't cleaned the back of those rims since I bought it so he called me and said he had to hand scrub them. I am happy with what I got for the price.

Looks really good! I was thinkink of doing that myself. Just be careful if you go in sand or lose dirt they will turn from powder coat to satin and then you will be happened on my last dirt bike that had black power coated rims and one day at pismo they were gone.

Those wheels look awesome! I live in the OC, what is the name of the shop that did the work for you? I've got the same wheels on my 06 DC 4x4 and i've been tempted to try that mod too.

The shop that did it was actually a tint shop that did my windows when I got the truck.

The name of the shop is called House of Tint... they specialize in vinyl and tint, but recently expanded to taking on other jobs. They actually outsourced the powder coat but did all the mounting and balancing in house. The vendor they use guarantees all of the work and do several jobs for them.

Their web site is www.houseoftints.com and they work out of Santa Ana off of Edinger. They do lifts, custom body work and pretty much any mod you can think of. They do really good work and have been in several trucking and car magazines.

I worked with Brian and he knew his stuff. He actually recommended to color match the truck, but I was worried that it wouldn't match exactly.

I could have saved some money by just taking the rim to get coated, but thought it was worth it to just have them to do all that stuff, one stop shop. Time is worth money as always.
