Default Leaving the Tundra family

Well folks, I have had a great 8 years in my Tundra and have really benefitted from and enjoyed the knowlege exchange here on Tundrasolutions. I couln't have gotten through my repairs without it. I have sold the Tundra and bought a 2008 2 door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I couldn't resist another project vehicle and decided to try something new.

Good luck to everyone!

Good luck with the Rubicon... it's a very capable platform to build on. You'll love it. Just remember, once the Yota gets in your blood, it doesn't go away.

Good choice with your next project as there is plenty of parts, and the person who got (or gets) your old truck is in luck.

Here's the new ride. Yes I will be missing the bed of the truck. I am already drooling over the quadratec catalog though. 3" Full Traction lift with 35" BFG MudTerrains! I just got the hardtop installed yesterday, but will be taking back off for the soft top.

Good luck everyone!! The Tundra was my third Toyota. Change isn't always bad!

Best of luck, Mate. I've known a lotta people who bought Jeeps ... but never knew anyone who bought a second one.

I owned a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great for two years, great feel to them. Then everything fell apart. 2 rear axle rebuilds, 3 AC control modules, headlights that turns themselves off (very scary), rusting through the paint in just 3 yrs (unheard off in the desert where I live), transmission leaks, engine oil leaks, door panel peeling off, factory stereo that loves to blow speakers, alignment problems, loves to wear tires quickly, wheel bearing problems, ate through brake pads every 10K, warps rotors like crazy, all this under 50K.

I loved my Jeep, thats why I kept it for 5 years. It had that "Jeep" character and soul to it -- Toyotas don't have this. But all the problems I had made me weary of them. If I could trust this brand again. It would definitely be the only one I would own --ever!

I hope you will have much better luck than me. Enjoy your new ride.
