I just checked their website and there is a notice that they didn't anticipate the volume of business that they suddenly got hit with, so I'd guess they are just real busy.

Anyway, this is the site Delta Current Control that has a fan I like, click the Integral Fans tab and scroll down to fan no. 33212 for $364.95.

I'd make two 2" wide, flat cross-bars to go between the stock bolt-holes for the fan-schroud, top and bottom, then bolt this fan kit to those.

This fan-kit is about two bills cheaper than the Perma Cool kit I had, and has better controls but can I sell this to my other half? Don't know but having that extra HP and MPG back sure would be nice.

Their website said this back in December when I did my mod. It's been a while.

Hmmm, wasn't aware of that. Makes me rethink buying from them. But I do like what I read about that fan, and I think it would work well on our trucks. Haven't seen it in person, but the spec sheets they provided convienced me.

What do you think?

Latest update on Delta Controls. No response yet, no controller. I tried calling 4 times throughout the day today, phone rings 20 times with no answer and no answering machine. At this point I would not deal with Delta Controls. Delta has had over two weeks to respond and I have heard absolutely nothing. The Delta controller is recommended by people on Mustang sites and this site. But if all that happens is your money goes away, the quality of the controller doesn't matter.

As for the Mark VIII fan: people on this site, a Mustang site and a Taurus site highly recommend it. Many have had excellent results with the fan. It moves 4500 cfm, seems to be highly reliable, and is available at junkyards and from many ebay sellers. I got mine from ebay with no problem, total cost about $80.00 with shipping. Seller was responsive to inquiries both before and after sale.

If anyone has any current information on Delta Controls I would like to hear it.

Thanks,
Gregg

Of course both but I was referring to the company. When I was doing my research, they were to hard to locate. Not good in my book. I do like their products, just got a bad feeling on the company.

Why not just get a refund and buy another controller from another company?

Well, I've thrown in the towel on DC Controls (Delta Controls, Brian Baskin). I started a PayPal dispute resolution and eventually may have to get my credit card company involved. Ultimately I might be out $145.00. No fun-but not like many far worse events.

So now its on to find a different controller. Unfortunately I wanted to have the electric fan installed before I and my son head to Glacier National Park next weekend.

If anyone has any experience with other controllers, I am interested in hearing. I'll also check various TS threads.

Gregg

If you're running the Mark VIII fan, your options are very limited. I believe SPAL has a setup that is supposed to work this fan if wired correctly. The Mark VIII fan supposedly sucks 42A at full power.

I've used two of these for over six months with no problems yet.

Electric Fan Accessories at Flex-a-lite Consolidated

EDIT: These will not handle 42 amps.

If your running a Mark VIII fan make sure you get a controller with a soft start. I have both on my truck and believe me, the thing pulls a crap load of current without soft start. I ended up getting the DC Controls 50Amp Infinitely adjustable controller (with soft start), can't remember the model number.

I ordered a DC controller and received it in about a month. I tried to email the company without a response. The controller is worth the wait. I understand that the controllers are built to order and he is busy enough that he can't answer the phone and/or email everyone wanting the controller the day after ordering.

I just ordered one of the FK-50P controllers and picked up a Mark VIII fan off of ebay, so I'll see how this mod works out too.

After reading all the threads... I'm confused. Are you guys saying the Flex-lite 290 is a POS and not worth messing with? Or is the amp draw too much for the tundra's alternator? Or both. I love to fab stuff up and I don't care about the noise but it seems like a good unit if it's dependable. I want to do this mod but I'd like everthing as self contained as possible.

Your thoughts????

If this is the the one you're talking about, I'd say it will not work. The web site says it fits 32" & wider cores. Our radiators are smaller than the required 32" minimum. The amp draw would concern me too but not that much.
