Default 4-Hi button engaged when I got in the truck!

Gents,
My wife decided to surprise me by picking me up at the bus stop the other day in my 06 DC. I got in and saw that 4Hi was engaged on a hot, dry 95 day (she must have mistakenly pushed it when she hit the AC button).

My question is obvious: Will this hurt the 4WD system? I mean she engaged it one, while in park and drove about 5 miles on dry pavement. Two, when I saw it and asked her about it she disengaged it while in park at the bus stop!

Should I even worry about it?

no.
I think I did the same thing for an entire day once by accident, maybe drove 30 miles (all straight & about 3 major turns). It may not be a best practice, but it isn't a common practice either. You'll be fine. Just let her know the consequences of pressing the "other" A/C button.

You will be fine , unless she was doing some drifting on the way to get you. No worries While driving over the mountain pass I use 4hi in the winter. We will go from compact snow and ice to dry pavement and back. I just leave it in 4hi and roll.

This has happened to me a couple of times. No worries, everything will be fine.
