Do-It-Yourself Transmission shifting slowly, maybe slipping

I bought a used 2001 Tundra 4.7 auto 4x4 Reg Cab with 54k miles and now have 63k on it. Great truck but transmission acts funny. Perfect on highway but in town it seems to slowly shift when it goes to a different gear. Pushing button for overdrive off seems to help prevent this.Im going to change fluid as it appears to be original and getting slightly pinkish-brown. Dipstick says Dexron2 or Dexron3. Is there any reliable info on weather synthetics actually last longer or is better than Dexron3. .oh yea I should probably change all the diiferntial lube with something..Any info on the subject would be appreciated. I know how to change the Pan and clean filter etc. I also read about pumping out the old fluid 2 quarts at a time, I can do that. Thanks

DEXRON - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I would do a full flush not a partial if ya change fluid types and finding DEX 2 or 3 is hard to do anymore! says DEXRON-VI is ok? so find a synthetic that ya like and change it, i myself will let dealer do it since my 06 is a PITA to flush plus dealer has machine for this! I think DEXRON-VI is Synthetic! never been much on partially changing any fluids.

Lotta good info here!
Lotta those older trannys got wrong fluid put in them which caused issues!
