1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "A/C Blower not blowing??", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
My AC on my 02 Tundra stopped working the other day, I can see that the ac itself does get cold, I can see the piping get cold and all, but the blower does not work, i was messing around under the hood and heard it click on time to time, does anyone know where the blower wires/clip is, that was the problem in my dads truck, just a loose connection? are maybe something else is wrong?
By "blower", do you mean the fan that blows the air out of the vents? That's mounted inside the cab. Right above the the area where a passenger would place his feet on the floor. Round looking thing with three screws. Easy to remove and replace.
But if you were under the hood and heard something click on and off, it souds like you are talking about the compressor. If the compressor is your problem, you will need to take it to a shop.

If the compressor is cycling then at least part of the system is working.
If the A/C is off and you turn the fan on, does the blower work?
Could be a very simple fix. Don't worry about the A/C until the blower is running again, it sounds like from your description that the A/C system is working fine.
Yep, I mean the fan is not blowing air out of the vents, it starting working this past weekend and then back to the same, there is no air blowing out of the vents but the a/c does get cold, bc I can see the pipes under the hood

If your fan doesn't run the a/c compressor will cycle on it's low refrigerant pressure control due to the lack of fan operation. Pull the fan assembly as stated earlier and see if you are getting voltage from the fan speed selector switch in the dash panel. If there's voltage at the connector at the fan replace the fan assembly. It will come from Toyota complete with fan and is easy to change out, Probably in the $125/$135 range for the unit.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
Just to give you one more option, you can buy the fan motor and transfer the squirrel cage yourself. But it is a PITA to get that sucker off the old motor shaft.

Bad connector to the blower fan. Check to see if it's discolored or burnt.
Could be bad brushes. I ran my blower in my Celica convertible all the time...the brushes finally worn down where it wouldn't work anymore. You can change them out or replace the entire blower motor unit. Yer money...

I have an 05 AC and have had this happen 3 times in the past 3 years. Same symptoms as you have described. Every time it has been the A/C blower motor.

Ever noticed water on the floor directly beneath the blower? You might have a leak that is messing-up the blower motor.
There was a post some time ago about some mounting bolts through the firewall that allow water to seep into the blower motor housing. I think the bolts hold some of the duct work in place. Anyway, some silicone caulk will fix the leak.
I took my blower assembly apart and found rust and other junk associated with water. I cleaned and lubed it, then put it back in and figured I would buy a new one when the original finally quit. That was two years ago and the thing still works like new. Sooner or later, I will replace the blower motor and seal those bolts.

The A/C fan and the defrost/heater are all the same. Does the fan work on any of the other settings? Can you here the fan run in the truck ? I had mice build a nest in my fan shroud that stopped the flow of air. I cleaned it out and all is well.
