1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Brake Proportioning Valve - Where is it?", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I just bought an 05 crew cab limited (w/ VSC/TRAC) and put a lift on it the weekend I got it. This is my 6th Tundra by the way, but first 05, and I don't see the proportioning valve bolted to the rear axle. I already have my bracket and everything I need to relocate it, which I have always done in the past. The mounting point with the 2 threaded holes is on the back of the axle just to the right of the differential just like all my other Tundras, but nothing is bolted to it. Can someone give me some insight on if it is somewhere else or I am missing something?
If you have ABS and some form of stability or traction control, it is likely this part has been replaced electronically.
More advanced systems can eliminate portioning valve and height sensing valves altogether.

Nothing too fancy, just better than stock!
It was never on the axle housing always on the frame, though there should be a rod from the housing somewhere.
