1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Faulty 22" Rim sends me a flippin *Pix~", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I haven't been here in quite a while, but I do lurk still
Anyway, I bought a set of Viscera 22s for the 02 AC Tundra I had, (That was undergoing a SPL rebuild ATM) and 3 weeks after having them, one of them BROKE APART at roughly 50Mph (Driver's Front). I remember the front end going down, and the back end getting loose, and thats it. From what Ive been told, the truck flipped 5 times across 6 lanes of traffic.
I was ejected, as the seatbelts were being relocated, and I only had to drive 2 miles to another shop. Here are before pics:
Here are after.

After all that Im doing OK, and I have more pics if anyone is interested.
Holy Broken Wheel Batman. Glad you're OK. Gee Whiz!

All considering I came out unscathed. Road rash on my "rear end" from sliding on the pavement And some screwed up disks in my lower back, but it could have been MUCH worse.

Nothing too fancy, just better than stock!
You mean to tell me the seat belt came off and you flew out the truck does it still run I thought I had it bad when my 2000 access cab V8 tundra got tolded back in 05 ! So did the wheel company pay for it or was it the insurance company. I would sue the wheels company that was a bad werck glad you was not going faster. So what did you get to replace the old tundra.
Glad your okay more pic's please how long ago was this !

No I had to fit 6 15" subs in the back for the 08-09 season in Db Drag. I had to move the seat belts to fit the wall, so I had them laying within arms reach on the way to the second shop to start working on it. I am suing the wheel company, and insurance payed off the truck. I bought a 2006 Double Cab (grey) as the replacement. I will do a nice worklog on this one as it will be a "show" install, to tow the Astro around.
