Default Scan Gauge II & ATF Temp

Just bought a Scan Gauge II w/ XGauge for a 1Gen Tundra V-8.

It's going to tow < 3500 lb from Texas to Idaho (climbing).

How do I monitor ATF temp w/ Scan Gauge?

So when did they add this feature? The other threads on this product say it is not available?

It is NOT available as of yet.

The Scangauge people told me a few weeks ago that they were " working on it "

I hope they make it work soon..............

    TNX.

So much for the $170 just spent.

I guess the only thing useful left is MPG.

Before you buy, you might want to investigate first !

Not only you get the MPGs but also the codes you might have, and you can clear them.

You also get HP, and a myriad of additional info that comes handy if you ever need to diagnose problems

Also, from what I understand, as soon as the Trans temp feature is available, they can reflash our existing scangauges with the new version for a fee. Of course we will have to send it in to them to do that.

so are they going to install a sending unit and wire it because the temp sensor i do not think will give a reading till it reaches the idiot light temp which is too late or probably close to it. I would just spend the 100.00 bucks and do your own sending unit kit with all the parts included, just do not put it on the A pillar if ya have srs air bags!!

So why did you buy it?
Makes me think you don't research things before you buy them. Not a good way to spend money. Hope you learn from this. Here's the manufacturer's webpage describing the product's features: ScanGaugeII - Scan Tool + Digital Gauges + Trip Computers

In case you're wondering how I got that info, it was a Google Search Results 1 - 10 of about 417,000 for scangauge ii. (0.11 seconds)

Every so soften I get mad about the folks at Linear Logic stringing us along and failing to crack the ScanGauge codes for trans temp for our trucks. It motivates me to root around the web and see if I can find any potential clue. The fan base is surely large enough! Today I came across this set of XGauge codes.

So I just tried it on my 02 Tundra 4.7L and it looks promising. My truck set in the garage all day today. It was about 90F outside. The initial reading was 78. It didn't change so I held the brake, shifted into D and revved 2000 rpm (convert stall) maybe 15-20 seconds then the numbers started to climb. I shifted back into P and idled for another minute or so while the numbers inched up to 111 peak. After the better part of another minute the number started sinking back down. This looks promising indeed.

That sounds very promising. I am going on a long trip with my TT this weekend. I'll pop those codes in my SGII and see if I notice the numbers rise as I go through some steep inclines. If the numbers go up as the load on the tranny does that might be what we have all been waiting for. Great job digging those codes up.

I agree, thanks for digging those up and posting them. I just inputted those numbers into my scangauge. WT is measuring 86 degrees and the tranny temp shows the same. I hope to test this out tomorrow. Since I have a fan hooked up to the tranny cooler I should be able to see a significant difference in temperatures when I turn the fan on.

    More results to come...
