This is a discussion thread titled "Headlights broken. Pics!", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
So, woke up this morning and noticed something weird in my headlight. On closer inspection, found that the cover that covers the bulb was popped out of it's place. This sucks, I am out of warranty now! Any ideas, of how you can re-install this piece on? Or if you can remove the plastic cover off to reinstall it? Pics below.
Here is a closer look at the piece off the bulb.
The open bulb.
The piece that broke/fell off.
The other side, still intact.

ha! fixed it myself in 30 mins! took off the headlight and used a 90* pliers and stuck that damn thing back in it's place. stuck a tooth pick on the back side for insurance.

You might want to stick some JB Weld on there and maybe a metal paper clip instead of the toothpick. That toothpick being made of wood will eventually git weakened by the heat and vibration and you'll be back to the broken headlight again...

might just ripe both off and leave them. i tried to see if that little reflector had anything to do with light output and it does not seem to at all. turned the lights on at night and seems like both headlights are just as bright.

Lets just say you get what you pay for when you buy the cheap imitation lights. I bought some for my projector retrofit project I'm working on. Totally cheap I already broke one of the corners off on the housing. If you want to fix it right take the headlight assembly out and place in oven for 300 degrees F for no longer than 2 to 3 mins max then pry lens and housing apart to get to the inside.
