Default Tundra Pulling Jayco or Casita Trailers

I have a 2002 Tundra SR5 Access Cab 4WD with V8/Auto - no tow package.

I'm considering the purchase of a Jayco FB22 (UVW 4080lbs) or a Jayco FB23 (UVW 4500lbs) Travel Trailer.

Has anyone ever pulled either of these trailers with a similiar Tundra?

I would like to hear any experiences/thoughts regarding pulling either or both of these trailers with a similiar Tundra.

Also, has anyone pulled a Casita 17' with a similiar Tundra? If so, did you use a WDH (weight distribution hitch) or Sway Bars or did you tow it from a bumper ball?

Thanks!

Danny

I would look at getting trailer brakes

If you're going to install the tow package yourself, you might find this thread useful:

trailer wiring on a 2000 tundra ?

I tow a 3500 lb (fully loaded) Jay Feather 165 (18 foot including tongue).

I use the weight distribution bars and no damper and the truck does great. I can also power up hills just fine too..

Ummmm trailers come with brakes.
I towed a 20ft TT over the mountain passes of Washington state. You are at the very upper end of what is safe. That being said get a good brake controller. Turn off your OD , your biggest problem will be getting mirrors that work well. Your MPG will suck figure on getting 8. Power wise you will be OK taking off is slow but once you reach 30mph your fine. Good luck and enjoy I towed our trailer well over 8k in 5 years. One word of advice is to get your tranny flushed and change your rear diff oil.
