I was just wondering what set of wheels look good on the 1st gen tundra and will the 2nd gen fit on the 1 st. I am not sure if aluminum is the way to go. Does aluminum clear coat hold up good after a northern winter.

2nd gen wheels will not fit 1st gen 5 bolt vs 6 bolt. Do you have a 4x4 and are you considering a lift?

Yes the truck is a 2006 AC tundra with 4wd and I am putting a 2 inch spacer on it. Would like to run the stock tires.

I run a 17 factory wheel with 285/70R17. If you want to compliment the spacers make sure you get the diff drop and do the cv boot mod posted on TS. But back to wheels, If your truck is any color a powdercoated alloy wheel will hold up ok to minor off roading and a bright silver like the factory on mine pretty much matches any paint. If you want a show look with still some off road performance go with an 18, maybe enkie deep six with some aggressive looking nitto terra grapplers. If you want a wheel to beat on go with a 16 with a bead lock in black or a solid polished metal. And wrap it with lots of rubber. White letters out... My .02

Did you run the 285/70/17 prior to the spacer lift? I am trying to see the minimum amount of lift needed to clear that size of tire.

Yes 4 a day till my kit could be installed. All kinda rubbing. 3" min up front in my opinion. Still some rub in full lock in reverse on the uca. Prob backspacing would solve it. My opinion go 5100's Spacers work, but they are a pacifier
