Default 04-06 Double Cab Tundra Front and Rear Ring and Pinions

I know there have been threads on R&P for the 06 Tundra and they always seem to have people that says that they are going to do the gears but often die off and you never get any feedback.

But now I have talked to a member on this forum that has an 04 Double Cab and he has 4.88 gears front and rear...I called the shop (that did the job) and they said that they used a kit from Sierra Ring & Pinion and they have the correct reverse rotation gear for the fronts of our trucks.

Anyone have any experience with this...getting real tired of the 3.90....

I did my 05...the first gens use the same ring and pinions as the first generation tacomas without the factory e-locker. The front axles are 27 spline just like the first gen tacos. I posted a thread way back in the drivetrain section.

Tundrainorange, I want to go LT one day, what brand are your front fenders? Thanks.

Ya, the front fenders are Hannaman...you will love your l/t once you get it on...I could never drive another truck without l/t, its that much smoother on & off the road.

As far as the r&p, I found a place that wil do front & rear using Sierra gears, for 1200.00. I knew the rear was available but the front is reversed.

So off I go with 35's & 4.88 gears....

The fronts have been avaliable for years as well...same hi-pinion RR gears as the 1st generation Tacoma. Yukon and PGgear also make the right gears.

It seems that most people are still under the impression that the gears are different in the 05-06 Tundras.

How did the fenders fit? Also are you running 35's yet?
