Default 2001 Color Question

Did they make the Tundra with the silver-grey color in 2001? For some reason I don't think so, but I know someone here will know for sure. I have the darker grey and might pick up something, but the guy seems to be color blind or something and can't tell me if it's dark or not. Don't want to waste $10 in gas for nothing. Thanks.

Yes they did. I believe if my knowledge isnt tricking me. Silver Sky Metallic (1D6) and Thunder Gray Metallic (1C7) were the two color choices for Silver/Gray. I owned a Silver Sky Metallic (1D6) The lighter more silver one. And the Thunder Gray Metallic (1C7) is just as it sounds, a darker "thunder" gray. If you are wondering the (codes) are the Toyota paint codes. If the rep is color blind, just give him the code and unless he can't read, you should get a perfect match. I was a Toyota Product Knowledge Rep for Toyota from about 1999-2002, I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

It's actually for a used shell and the guy really isn't sure which color it is. Going off his response and the not so great pics, I think it's the sky version.

I have a silver sky 01, the light does play good tricks with the color, I'd have to say it's silver sky as well.

You know your stuff well I had a Thunder grey 2000 Tundra i got new(1c7) and that color was pretty good. Often at times it would change to a purple at night and have the strangest color.

Question on our white Tundra does Toyota use clear coat on super white?
