1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Change to manual hubs??", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Also, if you know you are going to be using 4wd, but arent quite ready (maybe heading to the snow but still on dry ground) you can lock the hubs and drive around just like your current setup and use the push button and not have to get out
If you search you'll find a few threads on the subject. It cost me around $1000. I had the dealer press in the new bearings. That's the only part of the job I wasn't able to do myself. The ORS kit comes with the bearings and you can get a better CV boot from them. It's a real good idea to change to the better boot if you lift the front anyway.

Good thread! I was wondering how this project went for other people. I definitely want to pursue this task while lifting my truck and having everything apart. Pictures of the process would be nice
