IMO stay away from any "Kit". You will end up blinding everyone on the road, and get bad output on the road. If you really want HID, do a retrofit. That means taking projectors out of lets say a Nissan, Lexus, or Acura, and fitting them in your headlights. Then they will produce an even non-blinding light.
"2000-2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA H4 BI-XENON HID KIT 2001 2002"
What deters me is, I was told these were suppose to be around $120, but these go for $79.95.
I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra Access Cab btw.
Also, I've been searching on the forums and I couldn't find a clear explanation of projector headlights. Could you guys help me with that too?
Ok here it goes, mostly all of the HID kits sold on ebay are chinese made which means that they are basically all the same quality so it doesn't really matter which one you pick just order from somebody that has good reputation rating. That being said just look for the best deal. The kit that you have linked is a plug n play kit which means it will fit any car that has the the 9003 bulb you don't need a car specific kit because it doesn't exist. You could get any kit you like just as long as you get the HID bulb that has the stock 9003 base for the tundra housing.

like dibble said you have to be careful when you install the HIDs since they double the light output from the stock housing causing a glare. To reduce the glare just adjust the lights to aim a bit more down. As for projectors they don't make any for our trucks you basically have to make them. This means taking a projector from another car and fitting it into the stock tundra hadlight housing which is called retrofitting. Some websites to help explain and do this are hid-planet and theretrofitsource.com .

I actually bought that exact kit. The hi/low feature quit working after about 3 months. They look great and work perfectly other then that. If I were to do it again I would of just got standard bulbs and not the bi kit, they are bright enough that you dont really need the bright feature anyways. Everything other then the hi/low feature still works great a year later.

Thats for putting that in plain english, just got done reading a thread talking about retrofitting and i didn't know what they were talking about.
Got any threads I should read to learn how to do such a thing?
Do a search, there is a few guys that have posted pics of there retrofits. I have to warn you that retrofitting is expensive if you pay somebody to do it anywhere from $600 to $900.

Yes, they are bright enough where you don't need the Hi's but I had to buy the bi-xenon bulbs later due to my truck failing state inspection for not having Hi's.

Hmm, retrofitting... Thanks a lot guys, love the feedback. I'll look more into retrofitting. If anything, I'll make them myself. Not really into paying a lot more just to have someone do something you can do yourself without too much trouble.
Anyone know the average cost of a retrofit for my setup?

It depends, which projectors you want to use and if you reuse your old headlights or buy new ones to do the retrofit. So any where from $200-700. check out theretrofitsource.com join the forum its all about retrofitting. I'm almost done with mine I just need to aim my projectors and make shroud for them.

Uh... they are charging $36 to ship an $80 product? Just for THAT reason alone, I wouldn't do the deal. I HATE the ebay shipping ripoff scams...
And exactly how bright do you need to have your headlights? Are the OEM headlights unsufficient for your needs? Speaking from the perspective of a nighttime driver, I can't STAND when I have go up against a driver with the bright a$$ headlights that just about blind you. Their ego makes it dangerous for everyone else on the road.
Leave your headlights alone.

Thats why I was asking about projectors, so that it doesn't blind anyone. Well my OEM headlights are dieing and instead of replacing the bulbs I wanted to upgrade to something else.
Register, then read until your eyes bleed. Start with the HID University section. Chances are someone already modded just like yours and can give you exact advice. Good luck and thanks for choosing the responsible route.

You are a voice of reason Duffy. HID conversions are illegal and unsafe. See Daniel Stern Lighting & Consultancy for details.
If you want improved lighting install driving lights or buy/build a heavy duty harness and install slightly higher wattage bulbs. I made my own harness and installed high efficacy bulbs and my lights work great.
Make sure your headlamp lenses are clean and clear with the use of a restoration kit. And finally make sure your headlamps are properly aimed, a small but often overlooked detail.
