With that kind of claim I'd just get an ARB bumper and show another light pole, car, rear bumper whos boss if it ever happens next time. Because if you ever pull a "stupid again youre going to be in this same almost 2K worth of damage or way worse next time being the stupid in all of us sneaks out for a look next time costing you big time.
Do the claim , and get and ARB bumper.
I'm attatching ctures for you. The benefit of the upgraded bumper also besides frontal crash protection is the fact everyone WILL get out of your lane eventually seeing what is in their rear view mirror behind them.
If the bumper is a little more than the cost of the stock replacement you can just pay the difference. Most insurance companies will let you do this and I have seen many people that have upgraded damaged pieces of their car/truck with something better tham OEM, and why wouldn't you??? Unless you want to be in the same scenario later or when you sell the truck if you ever do put someone else into the same situation you are now. Thats how I look at. Everyone comments me on my ARB bumper. Everyone. They think it looks B@d@ss and it is.
Nice bumper!!! I'll have to look into that one....although I can hear the wife "I like th painted bumper better". You know what I mean I'm sure!!!
If you're insurance rates go up after the current one expires , JUST go to another insurance company. Find the best rate through some insurance businesses that find the best rates based on what all you want included and can afford. That is all I did after an accident. Nothing says you have to stay with an insurance company after you file a claim. And other insurance companies will be more than happy to offer you much better deals than Nationwide. "They are not on your side" if they jack the rates up. Even with such a small claim like this.
Only one small problem, I have my home insurance through them also....the "Umberella" policy and since Hurricane Katrina Nationwide is the only insurance company that I could find that wrote the "Wind and Hail" into their policy. I had Allstate before and during Katrina and my insurance went from about $1180 a year to about $4750 per year....the regular part of the policy was about $1100 but they made us look at buying "Wind and Hail" seperately at about $3600 per year. So I'm pretty much stuck with Nationwide ($1400 with W and H) until another insurance company writes "Wind and Hail" into their policies.
Did you tell your insurance company you hit a pole yet? If not maybe tell them you hit a deer. That would be covered under your comprehensive and not collision. Comprehensive claim should not affect your rates, and you may have a lower deductable.

Yep I was honest with them and tod them about the pole....Oh Well!!! I did get lucky in one way (actually the insurance company did) I hit the pole at work and work's going to cover having the pole put back up.
If you can fix it yourself and have a friend paint it, it will be a lot cheaper. You might be able to do it for a little more than the $500 deductible(if that is what you have?) and it won't be insurance fraud for telling them you hit a deer.
Can someone tell me if I can buy a chrome bumper for my truck instead of me having to go back with a painted bumper?
Thanks ahead of time!!!

You might not be able to one your 2006 and it fitting propery due to some 04'+ VVTI- motors and some width changes along with frame modifications
I know of 2003 - some 2004 Tundras changing the pained bumper to a 00-02' chrome bumper though on here.
What about the ARB bumper? You won't have to worry about poles or cars then. Plus the intimidation factors will go up.
