Default Can't See Lock/Unlock Control Button at Night

At night whenever someone outside the vehicle attempts to open the locked passenger door of my 2000 Tundra, I have the most difficult time trying to find the unlock button in the dark cab. The only button that lights is the button for the driver's side window.

I wind up pushing different buttons at random trying to find the right one. I get so frustrated that I want to get out of the cab, walk around to the other side and unlock the door with my key.

Is this the way the group of buttons were designed or are some of the bulbs not lighting?

Thanks for any light you might shine on the subject.

Earl

You have keyless remotes? if so, press the unlock button twice, all doors unlock.
Another option, without having to wire a new light for the button on the door control panel, would be to add a bump or something to the unlock button. Think brail for blind people here. I don't mean adding actual brail to the button, but instead adding a small circle of neoprene self-adhesive or something such as weatherstripping. Basically anything you can feel to recognize the button in the dark, without sacrificing the smooth looks of the truck's interior.

I've got something like this on my alarm clock's snooze button, sometimes I need that extra 10 minutes!

OK Computer Tech... I'll try imagining scads of light. I'm willing to try anything but I think Tundradrenalin has the more practical solution.

A small piece of self stick pile or hook black velcro on the button works very well, I have used this on a remote to feel in the dark and it works perfect

Yes, but where can we affordably buy these? I like the ideas posted here, and will try one myself.

I had an Aircrew member leave a set of NVG's on my plane and they luckily came back to get them during first gulf war. man i thought i was going to get lucky and get a free pair but not to be! These were around 2500.00 bucks in 1991 and really nice ones! They flew missions with them and also let us look across the Kuwait border at the Apache Helo's cutting loose!! those guys had a turkey shoot with way too many turkeys!! We were delivering GBU's to FOL's! for the A-10's and F-16's!
This stuff would be cheaper!! http://www.glopaint.com/

Go to Home Depot, Lowe's, etc., and buy a pack of soft, round rubber bumpers used around the house to protect surfaces that get bumped by doors, such as the edge of a washroom countertop that gets bumped by a fully opened door. They're little clear, soft, self-sticky doodads about the half the size of a pencil eraser. Stick one on the lock switch ... you'll be able to find it by touch in the dark every time, and it will stay where you stick it. Good luck, Mate.

How about a dot of glow in the dark paint or a glow in the dark adhesive dot.
