Default Re: unichip for 03 Tundra?

This is just my opinion........but my 03 revs higher....all the way to redline before shifting now........it changed the shift points......and it does seem faster........no I have not had it tested to have proof.............am I happy? yes.....as I had the 103 mph limiter removed at the same time........and my friends 03 doesn't hang with mine since the chip ..........I put it in at about 35000 miles............I have over 115,000 now with no issues at all...........It may be my imagination, but after I got done tring it out............my mileage seems to have improved about 1-2 mpg in combination driving........I average 16.5 to 17.8 depending if it has been in town driving or rural driving...........

AS always my .02

it is "just that easy"

Default Re: unichip for 03 Tundra?

Just put mine in 2 weeks ago (2000 4.7). I had the headers, intake, full custom exhaust, etc. and the truck wasn't running right, had a mad lean spot in the midrange. Bought the unichip and installed it (took less than 5 minutes, super easy.) and didn't feel anything until about 75 miles later, when the ECU starts to learn its fuel trims again, fine tuning everything. Now, I would hate to drive the truck without it.

HUGE noticeable increase in midrange torque (although wasn't running well before). Nice noticeable top end bump, also just runs smoother and feels better. like a new truck again. Oh, and the shifting is incredible. much better when towing, seems to not want to downshift erratically anymore. shifts are buttery smooth, if you couldn't hear it you would never know it shifted.

Mine didn't throw CEL on the high octane map, even when I ran it with low-octane fuel. But you can feel a difference between the maps though.

My opinion: grab one before the price jumps again!
