It is under warranty, I do not like them to find a reason or excuse and tell me that it is my fault. After Wednesday appointment though and if still use oil, I will do it myseld and I will use syntetic. The oil filter I think is easy to access just beside the Battery a little bit below it. I think I can reach it from the topside. Thanks...
They can't void your warranty for doing the oil changes yourself unless you just don't put the correct amount of oil in it or the wrong oil viscosity. You can do the oil change without lifting the truck just remove the skid plate on the front to easily reach everything. The reason I'm wondering is your not saying its smoking and with the amount of oil you say your loosing it should be all the time. If its not leaking and its not smoking then I can only look to the dealer as the problem. Now how they could screw up an oil change I don't know but it happens.

Hi Bill, I think I can access the oil filter from the top just beside the battery. Is the oil drain accessible from the bottom without removing the skid plate? I think you are right I should change it myself and see what happens. The people that change oil in that dealership are young guys-who knows what they are doing or do they?
What engine do you have? Unless the 06's 4.7 are a lot different than the 04's I can't reach mine from the top. Normally you need to remove the skid plate to access the drain bolt not always though, but it makes it much easier and take all of 2 minutes to remove.
I am sure I can reach the oil filter from the top but I do not know about the drain plug. I will check under the truck today if it is possible to reach that drain plug. Engine is 8 cylinder 4.7 litre iforce.
I just checked under the truck and the drain oil plug is accessible. The skid plate is aluminum and there is a rounded cut to access the plug, this is good.
Yes you can reach the filter from up top if you have long arms and are tall.I can but you take the chance of spilling oil all over the skid plate then it will leak until all is gone.I just remove the plate only take five minutes.I actually do this while the plug is draining. Then you can also get a look underneath to see if everything is ok.

Ah, I'm short with short arms, screwed to say the least.
I am going to try changing the oil myself. First I need to educate myself on the right way of doing things. After I drained the oil, replace the oil filter, screw back the oil plug, pour around 6 1/2 liters of oil. Here is the question: Do I top it up until it is up to the top dot and that's it or top it up to the top dot start the engine, check the level twice by removing the dipstick and sticking it back all the way and if it is still low add more oil. Or wait 10-15 minutes after starting it and check the level. What I am thinking is: If you start the truck and check the level right away and add until the oil is up to the top dot, when you check it in the morning or after few hours it will show overfilled. Please educate me on how to do this properly.
Level surface and make sure the engine is slightly warm so it flows out well. Don't get it too hot or it comes out like water. Did that the other day and got oil everywhere. 6.7 qts brings mine to the full mark. Just put in 6.5 start it and let it get warm shut it down and wait a few minutes and check the level. Add more if needed.
