I used to own a 2000 Ford Ranger to which I named "The Millennium Falcon" because as Han Solo said "She doesnt look like much but she's got it where it counts". That Ranger just made some of the most god awful sounds, the drivers seatback broke, the am radio was grounded somewhere, the mechanic told me that the only way to stop the squeeking fanbelt was to replace it every month or two. The E Brake would stick in the cold so that I would have to start the truck and rev it to 4000 rpms before the truck would make this loud BOOM sound and take off!
I could go on, but it had character LOL! But it kept on running ok and it did some **** duty for me like I yanked out giant 50 year old ewe hedges with it with a 50lb chain and a 5 neighbor redneck audiance each with his own 25000 HD truck with an unmolested paint job in the driveway saying "YUP" thats how you Geeeeter done!" The midget was riding shotgun and would fall on the floorboards as the truck jerked violently...he climbs up to peek over the dash and says giggleing "Did we get it daddy...did we pull the hedges out?" I bent both tow hooks!
So my female CFO (wife) told me we had the funds and I should procure a new truck. I thought my ford was ok, seemed like places had good deals on used f-150s so I test drove a couple. They are nice trucks...I thought...
That is until I test drove the 06 tundra that I bought this last weekend! I had no earthly clue what a piece of **** my truck was until I drove this baby around the block the first time!
Ok, I lied a little bit, I test drove a limited first which was like a lexus...sort of a rolling couch but a truck. It was also nice, but I dont need leather and seat warmers and all of that. This truck I have now has the suspension trd package which makes the truck a whole lot stiffer which I like!
Now that its mine and I can put my foot in it...WOW JUST WOW this truck jumps off the pavement and is so sure footed on the snow mud or pavement! (I drove the f-150 over railroad tracks at about 35 and the rear end broke loose and I got a touch sideways) The interior just looks more expensive and the seems on the truck are tighter. I also test drove a chevy silverado of the same year and it was a very good truck, but the interior looks like hillbilly fashion designers tried to go 70s cadillac pimp with it! The tundra is simple clean and finished looking.
Now I am reading all about it and I have a question. The original brochure said that the 06 tundra has 3.91 gears in the rear end! Is that true! I would believe it for the quickness this truck has!
Anyways, my interior is black and the truck is quick so it has been christened "Ninja Truck" plus it is from Japan so its apt! LOL!
Sorry, I dont blame you for not reading this long post, its just my truck friggen ROCKS!
If you respond...well I will get back to you because I am going to go drive my truck somewhere...who cares where, I will think of a reason...bread, milk, tampons whatever...

If you think that was funny, I almost changed the Rangers name to the flying dutchman when I figured out the only way I was going to get the 12ft sheets of drywall I bought from Home Depot for the basement remodel, was to lay them flat over the top of the 5 ft stepside bed to the sniggers of the indigenous employees! I was escorted home by a bunch of jealous teenagers in Integras ooogling my wing in the back!
I also flirted with the Rocket Launcher when I hauled a 13ft roll of carpet down the freeway. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are still scratching their heads over satellite imagry trying to figure out how the terrorists snuck a mobil scud launcher into the United States!
Leadhead I think you will be good to have around here if you have any really good storys or funny stuff come on down to the off-topic part of this forumOff-Topic - Tundra Solutions Forum
I know EXACTLY how you feel!! That is what happened to me. I had mentally planned on gettin a Super Crew 4x4, Lariat F-150. But, I thought that I should at least test drive the Tundra!! It completely blew me away!! My Ford dealer was working out a deal for the truck, and I told him {my to MY surprise as well.} that I wanted the Toyota. I bought my '06 Tundra January 10th 2006. I LOVE this truck MORE everyday. CONGRATS on getting your truck.
