Cool Remote programming - 2004 Tundra DC

I have a 2004 Tundra DC (2WD, TRD, Borla, Moonroof) that I bought used about a year ago. This past December my remote (I only had one at that time) quit working. I figured the battery died, so I installed a new one. Remote still would not work. I located programming instructions for my remote (ELVAT1B) on this forum (the instructions called for turning the key on and off 7 times then holding the lock button, etc.) This worked on the first try. I decided to order a 2nd remote from ebay. Before it arrived, I went out to the truck at work to retrieve my glasses. I pressed the unlock button twice (to open the passenger side door) and it opened fine. As I was walking away from the truck I pressed the lock button and nothing happened (it did not lock). I pressed the unlock, then the lock button again (nothing happened either way). So, I figure the remote must be bad; good thing I have another on the way from ebay. A couple days later the new remote arrived. I went through the programming steps again (several times) and it will not program. Now I have 2 remotes that don't work and I can't program either of them. Any suggestions?

The new remote you got has an FCC number on the back of it. Is it the same number as the old one ??

If not, you got the wrong remote. ( Access cabs and Double cabs have slightly different wiring and electronics )

If both remotes are the same FCC number and good batteries, maybe it is the receiver in the truck that is bad and I do not know how to locate or fix it
