Here it is another LS430 bi-xenon retrofit. I have installed them on my 2001 Toyota Tundra. After hours of reading and researching, I have decided to go with Larry’s idea of bi-xenon on my projectors and after about 4 weeks the project is almost done. It took me a lot of time to machine everything, install solenoids and make them work the way I wanted. But it was worth it. So there are some pictures of progress and I hope that you guys can give me some pointers on this project.
Let’s start with stock beam pattern.
Here is the H4 PNP kit installed on my Truck. This is just for reference for others in case if they decided to go with PNP kit instead of showing little afford and doing retrofit. Look at the glare!!!!!
Ok, pictures of the project itself:
Solenoids installed and operational.
No spacers and I'm loosing color
Driver side
using .025 inch spacers were not good enough so I have to go with .032 inch.
Passanger side
Driver side
Ready to paint.
Finish setup
Temporary alligment
And output
High beams
I have the brush guard installed on my truck that’s why I’m losing a lot of light (blocking center part between slopes).
Front view
Wall shots without shrouds being installed
Last one looking directly into it.
This is it for now. Tomorow I will try to install shrouds and reseal myhousings. I will keep you guys posted but so far what you guys think???

Saw your pics on hidplanet (same username),nice work! PM me if you're willing to mod another set of LS430s,or at least give some pointers on how to convert them to bixenon.

Eddie give me a week to put this project to bed and I will give you pointers how to convert yours to bi-xenon.Quick question.Have you done any LED projects? That is my next thing to do on my truck.I have a TRD cover on my 3-rd brake light and the output is terrible.I have to install 80 red flux LEDs and I already have problems with finding a pre-drilled plain board, the one that you can install LEDs on to it.

Re: 2001 Tundra and Ls430 bi-xenon Retrofit Progress
WOW MAN GREAT JOB!!!!
As far as doing a led 3rd brake light, I just bought some pc board at RadioShack, they are pre-drilled and have metal contacts for the solder to melt to.
I dont think 80 will fit in there to be honest w/ you. Maybe 60.
I wish I wouldve taken pictures of the board before I put it back in my 3rd brake light.
If you need any help just let me know!!
Again man GREAT JOB!!!!!!!

Re: 2001 Tundra and Ls430 bi-xenon Retrofit Progress
Ok it's been almost a week, where's the update I know you're waiting for lenses and potting compound so don't sweat it
I just disassembled a projector, now I understand how you converted the shield for bixenon operation. That's brilliant, using the shield's mounting tabs you cut off and reusing it as the "swivel" mounts
I think I figured out the solenoid/spring setup too:
Springs are connected to the shield through the two small holes you drilled on the shield.
Solenoid pushes the shield to the open position when energized. When de-energized the springs pull the shield back to lowbeam position. I'm also guessing the tip of the solenoid also acts as a "stop" so the shield is lines up correctly @ lowbeams.
How close does the shield get to the bulb's return wire? It looks like if the solenoid has too much travel the shield could contact the bulb

Nice retrofit!
Can't wait to get mine installed and working! =P I would go quicker if I had a garage, with all the rain I can't paint. it stopped now, so maybe i'll be able to do some tonight. =P

Ok here is a little update on how I have resealed my housings.
I have been using a fiberglass cloth to cover empty space between projectors and housings. This way I don’t have to worry about sealant being injected to far inside housing, plus I don’t have to use that much to reseal the whole thing.
Here is everything trimmed out and sealed from the outside. I had to use 3” female adapters and plugs to cover the bulbs and the sockets.
Ok this is it for now because I have to wait for my TSX-R lenses to come and potting compound for my ballasts. I should have those by mid of next week so I will keep you guys updated as soon as I can.
Here is something that I have done while I was waiting for the sealant to dry.
3-brake light cover.
Here is the video of how it works. I have “ 3-brake light flasher installed “
And video of bi-xenon feature that I have forgot to add in the past.
Sorry for video quality but I was using my cell phone to record my projects. I know that the audio is messed up really bad (audio delay) but you get the point.](*,)
Another update
Potting ballasts, before
After
I have changed the lenses from original to TSX-R. Also I have added another spacer to the one that I have already installed because of that my lenses moved forward so I had to modify lens holders.
To make up for space that was needed, I had to add angel eyes.
Testing
Installed
Ok its time to put this together and reseal the whole thing.
