Default 00 A/C Problem

So i got my 2000 Tundra about 6 months ago A/C didnt work when i bought it but its that time of the year where its starting to get hot so need to fix this.
I start my Truck and turn my fan on and hit the A/C button it turns on for about 5 seconds and shuts off and the light on the a/c button starts to flash. Ive tried filling the lines with 134a but there full so i know theres no leak. ive inspected the lines to look for damage but noting. I have no idea what could be causing it to shut off after it starts any ideas would help or things i can check

Edit:
Truck only has 78k miles on it engines looks to be in perfect condition no leaks of any sort i keep my engine wiped down and clean to be able to tell if theres leaks.

Thank You.

It might not be that's its leaking, but it could be just not at the right pressure difference. The whole system might have to be recharged professionally. Either that, or a actual component, like the compressor needs replacing.

Agreed. If you don't know what you're doing, you can get the lines all screwed up with improper pressures, air pockets, etc. Best to have it professionally analyzed. Hopefully it's just a discharge/recharge done the right way.

a blinking ac light means the compressor is commanded on but has no rotation detected by the sensor try swaping the ac relay with the horn relay to test the relay this is not common on this vehicle or model but sounds like the problem

Ok i had my models confused it is the heater relay the best way to cheak this model is to turn the ac switch on and see if you get voltage to the magnetic clutch wire on the compressor also i didnt mention erlier that a blinking light can also mean a locked up compressor.

Look for a loose ground wire at top of compressor (gold metal plate with 8mm hex bolt at center). Mine was loose....appears to have been stripped after service.

If the compressor is not running how would you know that the refrigerant level is full? If you added refrigerant on a static system chances are it was low incredible low. But you may have over charged the system which could cause liquid flooding back to the compressor and take out the valves. A quick trip to a pro is going to be a lot cheaper then a new compressor.
