Default Replacing my air filter

I have a 2004 Tundra SR5, 4.7L V8, TRD. I am looking for the the best overall answer for an air filter. I read a lot of things about K&H, but am looking for some insight from those in the know. Any help out there?

You're going to get a lot of opinions and probably some suggestions that you search the site more as this has been discussed a lot.

Overwhelmingly stock filter is the most chosen filter on this site.

K&N Has it's fans.

I run stock, but I'm leaning toward the AFE Dry Filter.

It will depend on what you intend to do with your truck and your environmental operating conditions. Your stock filter will flow more air than the engine needs except at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

If you are going to do a complete intake kit then things get a lot more interesting. As a general rule most aftermarket mods sold for performance gains will only return noticeable gains in the upper rpm range. There are a few exceptions to this rule.

It is a lot of fun to try out different mods on your truck but take your time, do the research, do not get taken by the outrageous claims (take the time to investigate the claims), and do what you are doing here - ask lots of questions. Doing a search first will help you better understand what you are trying to do and will also help you to fine tune your questions. By doing that we can better understand what you are trying to do and (hopefully) guide you in your process.

19+ MPG on the Highway at 75 MPH in a DC with a four speed automatic and a bad O2 sensor - not too shabby!
