I love this 2008 4x4 truck and came to it from a 2000 TRD which had 120,000 miles when I sold it. Never had an issue with the 2000 other than front end alignment.
I just returned from an 820 mile trip and on paper got a bit over 20 mpg unloaded. I do have a bed cap and drove between 60-70 mph. The comfort is superb and it handles like a camry (almost). Any ideas on how to increase MPG will be appreciated.
Blessings,
Greg D.

Hey all , good to see people still love the original Tundra DC
I bought this new in '04 and have about 31,000 on it (i ride a bike too hence the low miles) Its a well built truck, I can honestly say after 5 years of owning it.
I had a 2000 4x4 acess cab and sold it at 120000 miles. It still has a lot of life left in it for sure. I now have an 08 4x4 DC and love every time I turn over the engine.

hi, we here in gen1, welcome ALL double cab's, even the gen2.
the name double cab-not gen1 or gen2.
we aren't as picky as some gen2 members, & a few other people.
we accept all double cab owners, NO matter the year.
welcome aboard,

Wow, Dangrus417... You've got some money to burn to lift a 2wd. Looks cool though, I must admit.
Thanks. If i knew I was going to lift it then I would of started out with a 4wd but oh well. There are still lots of plans for it, kincluding coverting it over to a 4wd. Whats the point of working hard for your money if you cant have fun with it.
