The shocks mount in the same location, but the holes need to be drilled out and threaded. Unfortunately, the bolts that connect to the hood and shocks need to be epoxied in on my hood. It's too much pressure and they pop right out.
So at the moment, I only have one shock hooked up by epoxying the bolt to the hood. Seems to work well. I'm just waiting for some warmer weather to do the other side. I also have to do the same thing for the hood release latch.
Damn, those inserts at MSC are priced better than McMaster. A 5-pack at McMaster is $8.50, but it is stainless steel vs. steel. McMaster-Carr
all those damn companies ship freight too, that kills your small order :frustrating:
I just got some from Grainger, 25 pack of knurled zinc-coated steel with a large flange (~$15). They look way stronger than the SS non-knurled flush mounts.

I like the look, my son likes the look, but my wife doesn't like it at all. She doesn't like the way it looks for some odd reason.
I'd love to get in on this GB but if I did I'd never hear the end of it, so I'll have to pass. Sorry.

BJ you are the boss as long as your wife says you can be

I know I am not married yet, but will be in two weeks! But guess I am lucky, my girl understands my need to modify my truck, and since I make twice as much as she does, I earn the right to do what I want, so long as I can still be financially responsible. Luckily, since I raises my truck, and she's short, now she wants me to put some steps on it!
I am going to guess that that price doesn't include shipping. Either way, my stock hood has a couple of dents and bounces like hell in the middle, so count me in on the group buy.
How is the support on the hood? And flexing while driving?
