Default Maintenance Required Light

I have an 06 Tundra only 50000 miles, just got it maybe 3 months ago. The Maintenance Required light just came on. Thats different than the engine light right? Like its not as serious? What would be covered by the maintenance required light?

turn the light off yourself and change your oil every 3000 miles.
that's it. yspert

Ah stupid question... should have searched before posting. So its only about the oil change? So who ever changed the oil last set the odometer and after 3000 miles it automatically tells you to change the oil? Obviously its good to change your oil often but I've always heard changing it every 3000 miles is over kill, I thought you make sure to check level often and check how dirty the oil is.

the light flashes at 4500 and stays solid at 5000.
i'm an oil change nut because i talk to probably at least
one person a day who has problems due to not changing it.
look at the maint required for vehicles these days. pretty much none.
so i put my money into nice clean oil. never seen anyone kill an
engine by changing the oil a lot (when done properly). yspert

It is for your oil change..... and it bases it off of a certain mileage you put on it and you have to manually clear it when you change your oil.. directions in your manual

most likely changing the oil will fix that problem. unless you have a gas cap with a key like i do. My dad borrowed my truck and filled up the tank but forgot to lock it back with the key and my light came up. I just locked it and after a few days the light went away

I checked my manual and I can't find out where to reset this light. Anyone know how to do it? I've got an '05 work truck, 4.7L.
