Just wanted to update.
Waiting for parts is killing me. The Deaver springs have been back ordered but it looks like I should see them next week. Thats all I'm waiting on at this point. The steering rack is temp in but I am going to take it back out quick to switch out for the Total Chaos bushings. The Downey sway bar links look awesome. I'm still missing the front brake lines but if they don't come in by Friday I'm just going to switch them out later. I can't wait to get the front on the ground to see how it's going to sit. I did get a box of toys from Wheelers today. Rear brake line, leaf spring bushings, U bolts, 1" blocks, TC bushing kit and 1" dif drop.

SOON!! It's been two months since I've sat higher than the wives CRV and I'm going a little batty!

If your going to fab yourself the rear brackets are the easiest. When I originally went to order the rotted crossmember I was told there was 0 in the country and that they would be coming from Japan hopefully by the end of the summer. Lucky for me this was worse case scenario and it will be here on Friday but if it had been much more of a wait I was going to fab that. Would have been an easy fab if it wasn't for the shockmount.

Your going to love the Deaver 10 pack. You have the same set up as I with the Deavers and the 5100's, I'm telling you its like night and day. You'll never hit a speed bumb that slow again!!

I beefed my rear leafs up to 3/4 ton capacity for more load capacity, which raised me in the rear almost 3 inches. Revtek front blocks. Currently replacing the Ivan Stewart TRD bilsteins (no longer available) with 5100's. A softer version I'm told, the Stewarts were stiff but responsive.
I am thinking about going ahead and converting to a RCD lift. I've heard good things about them and the lift. The early Tundra's as you know are hard to find good aftermarket stuff to tinker. Spacers in the front I'm told shortens the drop limit space in the front end which adds stress and pressure on the shock. I know because I ripped the bottom eye to shreds on my passenger side. Also need to think about the anti-sway bar as it will be at a wierd angle after adding the spacers. Some kits come with a spacer for that as well to help straighten it out. Maybe that would help with the drop limit?!
I like my truck, it's paid for and now I can afford to tinker around a bit, not into more payments if you know what I mean.
Has anyone had front break issues as well?? Mine seem to wear out and warp the rotors pretty quickly. I just replaced the rears at 155,000 miles and I'm on the fourth set of pads in the front?

Long overdue update. I'n finally getting towards the finish line after over 5 weeks of waiting for back ordered parts and continually running into new issues. I'll let the pics speak for themselves. The last 2 pics are my grill- before and after. The truck is getting painted later this year and I am trying to figure out the overall look I want it to have. I like the idea of getting rid of all the chrome except for the emblems. Very open to ideas on the aesthetics.

This was all a ton of work, but I love my 2000 and there is no way in hell I'm gonna throw in the towel over some rust.

Lookin' Good!!! The back end looks great.

What is the weight rating on those Deavers?

Are you going to change out the exhaust with something in Stainless Steel?

If you haven't, you must be soooo anxious to get back in and drive that baby!

Nice work.

...Easy unless you're learning fabrication, have plenty of practice to do, and decided to box the whole bloody piece around a new shackle because you destroyed the stock parts ...

The new crossmember looks good & clean.

Okay, I need some quick opinions. Quick as in I hope to order tomorrow. I decided to go ahead and get rid of that ugly exhaust so I started looking into options. So far the best for my needs is the flowmaster dual system. Under $400 and I can kick the tips out behind each back tire which is what I'd like. Any thoughts on this system as compared to others that are similar. My Y pipe is shot so I will be adding a new less restrictive Y and running straight to the muffler, no resonator. I will be adding headers very shortly also.

This is the flowmaster setup. http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...oducts_id=4067

The under $400 was from a different parts store, the link is to flowmaster's site

I know very little about exhaust systems (other than I would like to replace mine) but my question is... Is that system made of aluminum or stainless? It states on their website that the tips are SS. It does not state what the piping etc. is made of. I wouldn't install anything other than those two metals under there after all the time and money you have put in and I think SS would most likely be the better option. Sorry I am not more help.

No its not stainless, but SS would run me around $300 more. I can't really justify considering this is not a daily driver anymore.

Also I've been meaning to bug JBToy and see exactly what he has done with his pipes. It appears he has them coated or painted. I'm curious about this.
